Italy's Messina Make Official Offer For Japan's International Midfielder Mitsuo Ogasawara To Kashima Antlers

Italian Serie A Club Messina are interested in signing the Japanese midfielder Mitsuo Ogasawara, after his trial with England Premiership side West Ham proved fruitless.

Mitsuo Ogasawara has already spent about a month at the East London Club, but failed to convince West Ham's Coach Alan Pardew to keep him.

Messina are hoping to convince Kashima Antlers for the move by also offering to provide Atsushi Yanagisawa to Kashima as part of the deal.

Atsushi Yanagisawa has failed to meet expectation at the Italian Club, after failing to score a goal in 44 appearances.

Officials from Messina are expected to arrive in Japan on Wednesday to complete talks on the transfer, and secure Ogasawara's move to Serie A.
