Israel 0-0 England - EURO 2008 Qualifier - Half-Time Report

The EURO 2008 Group E qualifier between Israel and England in Tel-Aviv remains goalless at half-time.

Israel started the match more enthusiastically than Steve McClaren's England, with the majority of possession in the first part of the half, but without creating any real chances until the 29th minute, with their only real break of the half, saw Tamuz have his headed chance go wide.

As the half progressed, England began to come into the match, but were well marshalled by the Israeli defence.

Israel were lucky to still have eleven men on the pitch after Benado, who had already been booked, blatantly obstructed Aaron Lennon as he was making a break down the wing, but was left unpunished by the Swedish referee.

Despite England forcing the majority of possession as the first-half drew to a close, half-chances from Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard never really troubled Awat in the Israel goal, and the first-half ended 0-0.
