Iran v Angola Match Preview: Ali Daei Starts For Team Melli, Yahya Golmohammadi & Ali Karimi Don't Start

Iran’s Team Melli face Angola’s Palancas Negras in their last match in Group D in Leipzig on Wednesday, with Angola still capable of reaching the last sixteen in the tournament.

Angola will need to win against Iran and erase the three goal deficit by which they trail Mexico and hope that Mexico lose to Portugal.

The only change for the Palancas Negras is the replacement of Andre Macanga, who is suspended after his sending off in Angola's 0-0 draw against Mexico and is replaced by Miloy.

Angola captain and striker Akwa said: “We have a greater sense of self belief now. We believe we can do it, even though we have to control the game from the very first minute.

“There is a small possibility that we can go through. We have to dream.”

Team Melli start with a different team to that that started against Portugal, with their talismanic captain, striker Ali Daei, to start against Angola, with Ali Karimi and defender Yahya Golmohammadi left-out of the starting line-up’s.

Golmohammadi injured his shoulder on Saturday. Ferydoon Zandi, who had been suffering with flu and muscle problems, now appears to be fit and starts for Team Melli.

Zandi said: “We want to leave the World Cup with a victory...we can play without pressure now, maybe that was also a factor.”
