Iran & Bayern's 'Wizard of Tehran' Ali Karimi Out For Up To Eight Weeks With Injury
Iran midfielder Ali Karimi, also known as 'the Wizard of Tehran', has suffered an ankle injury in Bayern Munich's 2-1 home defeat by Hamburg SV on Saturday and will be out for six to eight weeks, Bayern Munich have said in a statement.
The Bundesliga match, played amid heavy snowfall, saw midfielder Karimi injured in the second half of the match. Karimi is expected to wear a cast on his right ankle for the next 10 days, but will be out of action for Iran's early World Cup preparations.
Iran have been drawn in Group D in the World Cup Finals and face Mexico, Angola and Portugal in June's tournament.
