Holland Striker Ruud van Nistelrooy Wants Manchester United Future Sorted Out Soon - Move To Italy Looking Less Likely

Holland striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has said he wants his Manchester United future sorted out very soon.

Van Nistelrooy wasn't used by Oranje head coach Marco van Basten in the Netherlands' 1-0 defeat to Portugal which saw Holland knocked-out of the World Cup Finals, and now wants to know where he stands with his club future after having been shunned by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of the last season.

"I would like the situation to be sorted out sooner, rather than later. There must be some contact between the club and myself in the next few days."

The Oranje striker continued: "Maybe in the coming weeks we have to see what United do, and whether they get involved with other clubs."

Van Nistelrooy has already stated that he wants to stay at Manchester United, but there have also been rumours of a move to Italy.

The move to Italy may well be off after the latest (and possibly greatest) scandal to hit Italian football which sees four teams facing a tribunal.

It is now expected that, after accusations of match-fixing, the Italian champions Juventus will be relegated, with AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina all expected to have points deducted, which means that their transfer market is likely to be thrown into confusion.
