Holland & Man Utd's Ruud van Nistelrooy Linked With Move To Newcastle - Transfer To Real Madrid, Bayern Or Inter More Likely

Manchester United & Holland striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been linked with a transfer to Newcastle United, but the Oranje star looks likely for a move from the Premiership, with moves to Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Inter Milan all being touted.

Van Nistelrooy's future at Old Trafford remains in the balance after his much-publicised bust-up with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and it now looks very much like a summer transfer is inevitable.

Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder knows that he needs to secure a deal with at least one top-class striker after the retirement of Magpies captain and legend Alan Shearer, combined with the loss of Michael Owen, who suffered another long-term injury while on England duty at the World Cup Finals, and recent reports have suggested he is ready to table a bid for van Nistelrooy.

However, the likelihood of Manchester United letting the talented striker join a rival Premiership club is very unlikely, with van Nistelrooy almost definite to leave The Premiership altogether, with a move to either Italy or Spain reported to be the most likely.

The newly appointed Real Madrid president, Ramon Calderon, has already commented on a possible move for Ruud van Nistelrooy to Madrid, but said that any move will need to be confirmed by his newly appointed manager, ex-Juventus boss Fabio Capello.

Calderon, speaking to Sky Sports News on Wednesday, said: “I think he’s one of the options, but I am not quite sure, it is the decision of Cappello to have van Nistelrooy here.

“We will have to wait… to know exactly what he (Capello) wants and of course to know if we can pay all that money.”
