Holland & Feyenoord Striker Dirk Kuyt Linked With Summer Move to Spurs - Martin Jol's Swoop For West Ham's Sheringham FailsSubmitted by Scott Harkness on Thu, 26/01/2006 - 15:23.
Holland striker Dirk Kuyt has been linked with a summer move to English Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur. The 25-year-old striker has already considered a move to England, and has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool. Now he is the subject of an £8million bid from Spurs. Tottenham manager Martin Jol has always been an admirer of Kuyt, and it may mean that the striker would prefer a move to Spurs to join his fellow countrymen Jol and Edgar Davids, rather than a move to another Premiership club. With his club side Feyenoord still well in the chase for the Dutch Eredivisie title, Kuyt is keen on remaining in Holland for the rest of the season before a possible move to England, but has already stated his desire to play in the English Premiership, and it now looks like a move to Spurs is the most likely outcome. According to reports this morning Tottenham were set to fill the striking gap until the summer transfer window with a surprise move for former Spurs star Teddy Sheringham from London rivals West Ham United, who’s move would mean a third spell with the club for the 39-year-old striker. But recent reports from West Ham United have said that the former England striker is happy at West Ham, and Spurs have now dropped their interest in Sheringham after being told by West Ham Officials that they had no intention of letting him leave Upton Park. in favorites | email this page
