The 'Black Stars' of Ghana, who already have an eye on the World Cup final's next summer, have been on winning form of late, and in doing so have moved up 8 places in the FIFA world ranking's following their recent victory over Uganda and a draw with Senegal in a friendly match.

With recent World Cup Africa Zone Qualifier wins over the Congo DR, Burkina Faso and South Africa, Coach Ratomir Djukovic's side now lie 62nd in the latest FIFA standings. In explanation for the improvement in form that the Black Stars have been going through, Coach Djukovic's said, “Now every player gives 100% for their National Team”.

Stephen Appiah, the captain of the 'Black Stars', along with fellow European based stars, Chelsea Fc's Michael Essien and Vitesse Arnhem's Matthew Amoah all know what it will mean for the Ghanaian Nation, to qualify for the World Cup Final's for the first time, and the country is celebrating as if they had already qualified.

With Ghana only needing a point to completely guarantee a place in the final's, the 'Black Stars' will be playing the Cape Verde Islands, away on the 8th of October, in their final group match in the qualifiers. But the 'Black Stars' may well have qualified before the ball has been kicked.

The Congo DR are currently three points behind Ghana in Group 2 of the African Qualifying stage, but both South Africa and the Congo DR are playing the day before (7th October), and anything less than a convincing win for the Congo DR could see Ghana qualifying there and then. A draw would see the 'Black Stars' of Ghana qualifying for their first ever World Cup Final's.
