Ghana Black Stars Defender John Paintsil Close To Move To West Ham United From Hapoel Tel Aviv After Impressing Alan Pardew
West Ham United are reported to be close to reaching a transfer deal to sign Ghana World Cup international defender John Painstil according to the players agent.
Hammers boss Alan Pardew is hoping to lure the right-sided defender from his current club Hapoel Tel Aviv after Paintsil, who has been working with the club and impressed whilst there, with a deal worth £750,000 now in the pipeline.
Paintsil’s agent Lee Anderson confirmed a deal was close, saying: “The deal with West Ham is nearly finalised and the player is completely comfortable with an ambitious club that is playing in Europe this season.
“He has been very impressed with Alan Pardew.”
Paintsil impressed during the World Cup Finals in Germany with some solid performances, and with Pardew looking to add to his defensive players, the move seems very shrewd.
