Ghana Black Stars Coach Ratomir Dujkovic's Position As Head Coach Still Not Certain - GFA To Decide After Mexico Friendly

Ghana FA chairman Kwesi Nyantekyi has stated that Ratomir Dujkovic is still not a definite to lead the Black Stars at the World Cup Finals in June.

Although the Serbian coach had been heavily criticised for Ghana's first-round exit at the African Cup of Nations, it was thought the coach had done enough to retain his job, having guided the Black Stars to the World Cup Finals.

But Nyantekyi, who was travelling through London on his way to watch Ghana's friendly against Mexico in the USA on Wednesday, said no firm decision has been taken on Dujkovic's future.

“No firm decision has been taken to retain or sack the coach,” said the GFA chairman.

“We are reviewing the situation and we have to proceed with caution and great care.

“By the time we go back to Accra [the Ghana Capital], we will have made a decision.

“We will look at the team's performance so far, including the Mexican match, and we will take a definitive decision on whether the coach will lead us to the World Cup Finals.”

Dujkovic earned a place in Ghana's football history by becoming the first Black Stars coach to earn the four-time African Cup of Nations champions their first ever appearance at the forthcoming World Cup finals.

Ghana have been drawn in Group E alongside Italy, the Czech Republic and the USA, and kick-off their World Cup campaign against Italy’s Azzurri.
