Germany Under-21 forward Aaron Hunt has been suspended for two international matches for gross unsporting conduct during the Under-21 second leg play-off match on October 10, between Germany and England.

The 20-year-old Werder Bremen striker, whose mother is English, was said to have been one of the German players that allegedly directed monkey taunts at England pair Micah Richards and Anton Ferdinand during the match which saw England win 2-0 to qualify for the European championships in Holland.

Hunt protested his innocence, but was nonetheless banned for Germany’s next two international matches.
