Germany Captain Michael Ballack Reported To Have Confirmed Four-Year Deal With Chelsea
Germany captain and Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack has reportedly agreed a four-year deal with Premiership champions Chelsea and will join the West London club after the World Cup.
The 29-year-old German international midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the course of this season after it became apparent that he had no intention of signing a new deal with Bayern.
It has looked more likely that Ballack had decided to move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks when the player's representative Michael Becker and Blues' chief executive Peter Kenyon admitted the two parties were in “serious discussions” about a move.
German broadcaster ZDF has now reported suggestions that a deal has been agreed and Ballack will move to Chelsea on a free transfer this summer following the World Cup Finals in Germany.
A statement said: “According to information from ZDF, Michael Ballack and the English champions have agreed a four-year contract.
“The captain of Germany and the London club must only sign the contract now.”
