Fresh Injury Concerns For France Ahead Of Georgia Clash As Lyon’s Gregory Coupet & Arsenal’s William Gallas Are Doubtful
France have fresh injury worries with goalkeeper Gregory Coupet and central defender William Gallas considered doubtful for their Group B Euro 2008 qualifier against Georgia in Auxerre on Wednesday.
Lyon’s Coupet has reportedly picked up an abdomen injury while Arsenal’s Gallas is battling thigh problem. The Les Bleus could hand over the starting place to Mickael Landreau and Julien Escude if the duo fails to regain fitness.
France, who lead the group following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Ukraine, are two points clear of World Cup champions Italy.
"If we lose the Georgia game, Saturday's win will be a waste because we will have dropped points our rivals will not drop," said Domenech.
"In our group, we have to have a perfect record at home and then try to snatch away points."
France are already without star striker Thierry Henry and skipper Patrick Vieira due to injury problems.
