France Wing-Back Willy Sagnol Out For 4 Months With Knee Injury, Say Bayern Munich

France full-back Willy Sagnol will miss the action for about four months as his knee injury is worse than feared initially, his club Bayern Munich said on Thursday.

Sagnol suffered the fateful injury in the second half of Bayern's 2-2 draw at AC Milan in their Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie on Tuesday.

A first-hand examination then indicated the 30-year-old would need six to seven weeks to recover.

However, the German outfit were in for a shock on Thursday as tests showed severe cartilage damage.

Sagnol, who joined Bayern in 2000, will miss the rest of the season and summer’s Euro 2008 qualifiers for his country.
