Domenech announced his 23-man squad with two new call-ups, Wigan Athletic's defender Pascal Chimbonda and Marseille striker Franck Ribery and also key players from Chelsea, Manchester United, Lyon, Real Madrid, Juventus and others.

The ex Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez faces tough competition from Lyon's Gregory Coupet, who many fans prefer to see guarding France's goalposts during the World Cup Finals in Germany.

Wigan's Pascal Chimbonda had an excellent performance during the Club's first Premiership appearance and well deserved the callup. Marseille's 23-years-old Franck Ribery's skills surprised many in France's La Ligue 1.
