Slovakia goalkeeper Lubos Hajduch made several outstanding saves and Arsenal striker Thierry Henry missed three good chances to score.

“It's ironic that we played one of our best attacking games for a long time, and we end up losing the match,” Henry said.

It says a lot that ‘keeper Hajduch was Slovakia's best player on the night, making some outstanding saves to deprive Les Bleus a goal in open play.

“We lacked efficiency, that's a shame,” Domenech said. “But we showed a lot more creativity than before. Overall I'm happy with the players. They showed a real drive. Something happened tonight that will help us move forward.”
