The French International midfielder spoke to a French daily newspaper about his footballing carreer. His contract with Spanish Primera Liga Club Real Madrid is ending in 2007.

Zinedine Zidane hinted that he is not sure if he will continue playing in 2007. In today's French weekly "Le Journal du Dimanche" he gave an interview, revealing thoughts about his career.

"It is not sure that I'm going to stay until 2007. There are still six months to go with Madrid and there will be the World Cup. Then, we will see," Zidane said.

Zidane quit the French national football team after the Euro 2004 tournament, where 'Les Blues' suffered a devastating blow by Greece in the knockout stages.

He returned in the national squad back in August, in order to help France qualify for the 2006 World Cup, to be hosted by Germany next summer.

"I came back to help France qualify. I'm certain that we have a team capable of achieving something great. Our players belong to the best European clubs," Zidane said.

"We still miss a little something to do well. We will have to work to have it again. As for me and for players like me, the World Cup will be our last great event"

France were seeded in the quite strong Group G, along with Switzerland, South Korea and World Cup Debutants Togo. Zidane's participation is considered as vital in Raymond Domenech's World Cup Finals Squad.
