Former France Star Zinedine Zidane Turned Down European All-Star XI Place - Inter Milan’s Marco Materazzi To Play

Former France international midfielder Zinedine Zidane turned down an invitation to play in the European All-Star XI team against Manchester United in a charity football match at Old Trafford on March 13.

Euro XI coach Marcello Lippi told a news conference on Monday: "UEFA sent the invite, not me. But it came back negative at the last minute."

Zidane, who had head butted Italian defender Marco Materazzi during the World Cup final last year in Germany, has since retired from football.

Inter Milan’s Materazzi is set to play.
