FIFA Clears Australia and Liverpool Striker Harry Kewell
FIFA's Disciplinary Committee cleared the Liverpool striker of any wrong-doing, making him available for the crucial Socceroos Group F match against Croatia, which Australia must not lose.
The player went straight to referee Marcus Merk after the final whistle was blown and accused him of being biased towards the Brazilian national football team.
Kewell was very frustrated with Marcus Merk as the latter gave 25 fouls against Australia and only 9 against Brazil, while he insisted not to talk at all with Socceroos captain Mark Viduka throughout the match.
FIFA's Director of Communications, Markus Siegler, told reporters that Harry Kewell was cleared due to inconsistencies in the referee's report.
"I think I was just overheated at the moment, it was just one of those things," the Liverpool striker said.
"It is the first time I have ever done something like that. It was just a big, big game for us... It was an overheated moment for me."
