Starting line-up’s for the EURO 2008 Group B qualifier between the Faroe Islands and Scotland in Toftir on Wednesday.

Scotland manager Alex McLeish is confident that his team will secure all three points with a victory over the Group B minnows, although the Scotland boss will be wary of the Islanders after they almost gave world champions Italy a shock in last Saturday’s qualifier, scoring in the second-half to give the Azzurri a tense last 15 minutes in their 2-1 win.

Although Scotland have drawn their last two matches in the Faroes, McLeish said to scottishfa.co.uk: "We are not thinking about anything other than winning. We have an entitlement to confidence because of our performances and the standard of players we have.

"It will be a tough game and it has been tough for us in the past here, but we have come here to try to win."

Scotland captain Barry Ferguson came through a training session at the national stadium in Torshavn on Tuesday afternoon and is fit to lead the Scotland team.

Attacking midfielder Shaun Maloney also starts the game, as he did in the friendly against Austria last week. Scotland will use Maloney's width to get past the packed Faroese defence, which has improved considerably since conceding six goals in each of their two opening ties, one of those against Scotland.

Scotland are currently fourth in Group B on 12 points, behind Ukraine in third who are ahead on goal difference. Italy are second with 13 points and France lead the group on 15 points.
