Estonia 0-1 Croatia EURO 2008 Group E Qualifier - Da Silva Scores To Take Croatia Top Of Group E - England's EURO Hopes Dented
Croatia have beaten Estonia 1-0 in their EURO 2008 Group E qualifier at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn on Saturday to take Croatia back to the top of Group E, ahead of Russia, Israel and England.
Slaven Bilić's side started the game strongly, with the home side going a goal down in the 32nd minute after Eduardo da Silva turned well to shoot high into the net from the edge of the penalty area for his sixth goal so far in qualifying.
Estonia played extremely well and rallied hard for an equaliser, pressing the Croatians hard towards the end of the match, but try as they could, they couldn’t find a way through.
Croatia are now back in first place in Group E with 16 points, ahead of Russia on 14 points, with third-placed Israel equal on points with Russia and England looking in dire straights in fourth-placed with 11 points.
