England's Captain David Beckham Suspended For Match V Poland
England Captain David Beckham will miss England's crucial Europe Zone Group 6 World Cup qualifying match against Poland on Wednesday.
The England skipper was sent-off in England's match against Austria, for two bookable offences within the space of a couple of minutes.
His first booking was enough to see him miss the match against Poland, when he was adjudged to have "armed" an Austrian player while jumping for a header.
The second offence, just minutes later, was what at the time seemed an innoccuous, but badly timed tackle just outside the England penalty area. The referee had no hesitation in reaching for his book for a second time, and sending-off the Real Madrid midfielder.
