The England squad have arrived in Cardiff ahead of Saturday's FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Wales at the Millennium Stadium. England Coach Sven Goran Eriksson is widely expected to play a 4-5-1 formation, with Wayne Rooney on his own up-front. Shaun Wright-Phillips will get his first competitive start on the right hand side of a five-man midfield, with Joe Cole playing wide on the left. In the middle, Real Madrid's David Beckham and Chelsea's Frank Lampard, should now be joined by Steven Gerrard who looks to have shaken off his calf injury. A back four of Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Jamie Carragher, and probably Phil Neville are all likely to line up against the Welsh. When asked if six points from the next two games, against the home nations was all the England players would accept, Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand replied 'yes... simple'. Meanwhile Wales, of course now playing for pride, are conscious of the possibility of an England backlash, following the drubbing at the hands of Denmark. John Toshack has had to juggle things around at the back, but will have the experience of Captain Ryan Giggs and John Hartson to Call on in attack along with the dangerous striker Robert Earnshaw. in favorites | email this page
