Following are the team line-ups for the international friendly between England and Germany at Wembley on Wednesday.

Newcastle United’s Michael Owen and Alan Smith are starting up front for Steve McClaren’s side, which had been hit by a number of injury casualties coming into the fixture.

LA Galaxy’s David Beckham has put his ankle problems behind him to start while Reading's Nicky Shorey starts at left-back on impressive current form.

England Starting XI: Robinson, Richards, Terry, Ferdinand, Shorey, Joe Cole, Lampard, Carrick, Beckham, Owen, Smith.

Substitutes: Carson, James, Brown, Phil Neville, Steven Taylor, Downing, Dyer, Wright-Phillips, Crouch, Defoe.
