England Captain David Beckham Hasn't Learnt Wayne Rooney Lesson.

England Captain David Beckham has amazingly been sent off during Real Madrid's 3-1 loss against Valencia on Sunday evening in an exact replica of the circumstances that saw Wayne Rooney sent off recently.

Having just picked up a yellow card, the England Captain then applauded the referee, exactly the way Rooney saw red for his club side Manchester United just weeks ago.

Beckham publicly supported Rooney after his sending off, saying, "He, (Rooney), has learned his lesson". Obviously the England Captain failed to learn this lesson himself, as his show of petulance immediately led the referee to reach for the red-card.

Surely Beckham, as the leader of the England football team, will have to learn that he sets an example, especially to our younger players, and that as England Captain, he has far more pressure to behave on, and off the field.

This ridiculous show of childishness is no doubt going to be the source of a huge amount of negative debate in the English press in the coming days, something that the England TEAM does not need, especially with our recent World Cup qualification, which we should be celebrating.

Beckham has been a great Captain for England, but maybe England's Coach Sven Goran Eriksson needs to look for a Captain who leads by example, Chelsea's John Terry for example, who's behaviour is exemplary, both on and off the field, and unarguably, one of the best club Captain's in the English Premiership.
