Egyptian Striker Amr Zaki Offered Deal By Two Premiership Sides - Man City, Blackburn Rovers & Feyenoord All In Hunt

Egyptian international striker Amr Zaki may be making a move to The Premiership after his side, Zamalek Sporting Club, received two offers worth £2million (€3m) from two Premiership clubs with a view to a January transfer.

23-year-old Zamalek is an adaptable striker who can play behind a front two or as a main forward, and currently plays for Zamalek Sporting Club in Giza, a suburb of the Egyptian capital Cairo.

After an unsuccessful spell with Russian club-side Lokomotiv Moscow, (where he failed to play a single match), Zamalek Sporting Club have now been approached by a football management company called ‘4 Steps’ with the offer from the two Premiership clubs.

‘4 Steps’ sent a fax on behalf of the two English clubs, confirming their interest in signing Zaki from Zamalek Sporting Club during the January 2007 transfer window.

The fax stated that Zaki will have to travel to England to undergo a trial period and medical examination before any contract can be agreed.

Zaki is already due to be travelling to London with the Egyptian national team for an international friendly match against South Africa on November 15th.

The fax did not name the clubs interested in signing Zaki, but the player has already been linked with a move to both Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers last summer, but the Egyptian club insisted the player was not for sale.

Zamalek were only offered a fee of £1.65 million (€2.5m) at the time, but with the club suffering from financial problems, and Zaki keen on a move to The Premiership, the move to England seems likely, with latest reports from Egypt saying that one of the Premiership teams is definitely Manchester City.

Zaki, who was a member of Egypt's squad that won the African Cup of Nations on home soil in February, has also had interest shown from Dutch Eredivisie giants Feyenoord and French Championnat side Nantes.

The fax from ‘4 steps’ company made it clear that the £2million offer is fully-negotiable and urged Zamalek officials to reply as soon as possible, with both Nantes and Feyenoord likely to step-up their chase for the versatile striker.
