Deadline For Naming Of World Cup Squad's May Be Delayed Say FIFA

It has recently emerged that FIFA are reconsidering the May 15 deadline for each national squad partaking in the World Cup Finals to be named.

England Head Coach Sven Goran Eriksson and Netherlands Coach Marco van Basten, among others, have appealed to FIFA regarding the deadline, which sees many players still participating in club football at the time of the deadline.

FIFA have now announced that there will be a meeting to discuss the possibility of extending the deadline to accommodate any players that may be involved in the Champions League final, or other domestic cup competitions.
