Czech Republic striker Milan Baros' agent has claimed there is a clause in the striker's contract which could allow the former Liverpool forward to leave Aston Villa after the World Cup.

The 24-year-old only moved to Villa Park last summer after being squeezed out of Liverpool costing Aston Villa £6.5 million (€4.5 million).

Villa's return on the investment has seen Baros score 10 goals in all competitions, although his season has been punctuated by injury.

With Aston Villa currently struggling in the Premiership, there have been suggestions that Baros could move on again during the summer.

Pavel Paska – Milan Baros' representative - admits a transfer has not been discounted as he revealed the player moved to the Midlands side because they were the only team who were interested in the striker and able to afford him.

“Yes, there were really many clubs interested, but they didn't have enough money to afford him," Paska told Sport.

“It was necessary to pay the transfer fee and, together with this, to also not lower his wages.

“Eventually, Aston Villa were the club which fulfilled it.

“Of course, we think about the possible transfer out of Aston Villa after the World Cup. There's an option in Milan's contract for this case.”

Paska also outlined the desire last summer to find Baros a club who could offer regular football after the forward slipped out of Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez's plans at Anfield.

“We had a priority in the summer to find Milan a club in which he would play regularly at his young age,” added Paska.

“You know that he joined Liverpool as a 19-year-old. He did a great job there and, together with Vladimir Smicer, helped Liverpool to win the Champions League.

“But the new manager was having other ideas about football. Milan was told he would not be played regularly and it was necessary to react on that.”
