A Spanish court on Wednesday cleared Spain coach Luis Aragones of racist conduct for his derogatory remarks aimed at France striker Thierry Henry, in October 2004.

“The court found that the Spanish Committee for Sporting Discipline (CEDD) had incorrectly evaluated the evidence,” the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said.

“We now hope that all measures will be taken to clear the good name of the national coach and the RFEF disciplinary committees.”

68-year-old Aragones stirred a controversy when he was caught on tape in a training session, telling Spain striker Jose Antonio Reyes, then at Arsenal, that he was better than "that black shit", apparently referring to his Gunners team-mate Henry.
