Costa Rica's Guimaraes Says Ecuador Have Weaknesses Which Must Be Exploited By The Los Ticos

Speaking after today's training, Costa Rica head coach Alexandre Guimaraes said that Ecuador have weaknesses which the 'Los Ticos' need to exploit in a match which must be won. Paulo Wanchope expected to be the key player of Costa Rica.

"Ecuador are a good team but they have weaknesses, especially in defence, which we can exploit... We are going in to the game in an attacking frame of mind and it is simple, we must win," Guimaraes told reporters.

"We will have a very different defensive structure from the German game, which we have practised well... We are confident it can work."

Since Germany won Poland today, Costa Rica must win in order to keep their hopes of progressing into the second stage of the third World Cup tournament in their history. Paulo Wanchope is expected to be the key player during attacks and counter-attacks.

Wanchope scored two goals against Germany and Los Ticos proved they are a team which can win decisive matches. Until Germany's fourth goal in the opening match of the tournament nothing was taken for granted and there were times the German defence was suffering.
