Colombia 1-0 U.S.A Result: Copa America 2007 - Jaime Castrillón Scores Only Goal, Monterrey's Hugo Rodallega Misses Penalty-Kick

Colombia have beaten the United States of America 1-0 in their final Copa América 2007 Group C Match in the Metropolitano Stadium in Barquisimeto on Thursday.

With both teams having lost both their Group C matches, neither team could qualify for the knockout stages of the Copa América 2007, and were playing for pride.

Colombia had the majority of possession in the match, with Jaime Castrillón heading home the only goal of the match in the 16th minute, with Monterrey striker Hugo Rodallega missing a penalty for Los Cafeteros in the 35th minute.

Colombia were reduced to 10-men in the dying minutes of the match after goalkeeper Robinson Zapata was sent off the field after being booked twice for timewasting by the Chilean referee Candelario Manuel Andarcia.

Hugo Rodallega went from forward to goalkeeper as he took over in the Colombia goalmouth for the last minutes of the match, but neither he or Zapata were ever tested by an unexperienced U.S.A team, who featured as CONCACAF Gold Cup winners, but return home without registering a win.

Colombia have finished third in Group C, but not as one of the two best third-place teams, with the U.S. failing to register a win in the tournament.
