Chelsea's Spanish International Seals Transfer To Spanish Primera Liga To Join Valencia - Arsenal's Ashley Cole Now Blues Target

Chelsea’s Spanish international left-back Asier Del Horno has secured his move to Primera Liga side Valencia on a six-year deal for a fee believed to be just under £4.8m (€6.7million).

25-year-old Del Horno, who only spent one season with the Premiership champions, moved to Stamford Bridge last summer for £8m but saw little first-team action, with his departure now reportedly paving the way for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to secure the transfer of England left-back Ashley Cole from Arsenal in time for the new Premiership season.

Del Horno began the season in Jose Mourinho's side but the Chelsea boss opted for Franced international defender William Gallas at left-back towards the end of the season after wayne Wayne Bridge moved to Fulham.

Del Horno, with little first-team action with The Blues, was keen on a move back to Spain and, following Liverpool FC's summer transfer of Fabio Aurelio from Valencia, the Spanish side were on the hunt for a full-back to replace Aurelio.
