Chelsea Winger Joe Cole Desperate To Make England Comeback – Eyes Return For Three Lions’ Friendly Against Brazil

Chelsea winger Joe Cole wants to make England comeback with Steve McClaren’s side scheduled to meet Brazil on June 1 in a friendly at the new Wembley and then undertake a trip to Estonia for June 6 Euro 2008 qualifier.

25-year-old Cole made a recovery from knee and foot injuries to play a part for the Blues in the latter stages of the 2006-07 campaign when many had felt he would miss out on playing again in the just concluded season.

Cole, who however featured for Jose Mourinho’s FA Cup winners for just the first half on Saturday, said: "It is not so much fitness, it is just a case of getting my body right. I've got enough to play these two games for England, have a break, keep ticking over and get my body right. I just want to go out there and play for England now."

Former West Ham player Cole is however happy that he could add the first FA Cup winners medal to his collection.

"Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong this season with key players being injured. I may have only had 45 minutes but we won the cup, that is all that matters," he quipped.
