Charlton's Darren Bent Guaranteed Of England Cap Against Uruguay Says Sven- Woodgate & Dyer "Have Good Chance" Of Making Squad
Charlton Athletic's on-form striker Darren Bent has been told by England Head Coach Sven Goran Eriksson that he will be a definite starter in tomorrow's World Cup warm-up match against Uruguay.
Bent is hoping to secure a place in Sven Goran Eriksson's squad for the Finals in June, and will use the friendly at Anfield to show the England boss that he is worth his place.
Bent, who has scored 19 goals for the Addicks already this season, making him the top English born striker in the Premiership, and is sure that his form will cement him a place in the final squad to be named in May.
Eriksson has also confirmed that both Real Madrid's Jonathan Woodgate and Newcastle United's Kieron Dyer's places are still open for them if they manage to return to fitness in time.
