Charlton Boss Alan Curbishley Given Backing By Arsenal Boss Wenger As Successor To Sven Goran Eriksson As England Coach
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley could be the ideal candidate to replace Sven Goran Eriksson as England head coach.
The FA have already started the selection process to replace the Swedish coach after this summer's World Cup Final’s in Germany, with Curbishley already having had an unofficial meeting with the head of the FA, Brian Barwick as a successor for Eriksson and Wenger believes Curbishley will be ideal for the post.
“Curbishley is capable of doing it,” said Gunners boss Wenger.
“He has at least 10 years experience of coaching at the top level and it is a job for experienced people.
“It would be better if Curbishley had experience of coaching in European football, but it would not put me off.”
Since the media found out about Curbishley’s meeting with the FA, the Charlton boss has stated that he no longer has interest in the post, but the backing of such a renowned manager can’t but fail to give Curbishley a boost.
