Celtic Close To Signing Feyenoord's Sno - Boss Strachan Also After Chelsea's Cole & Bolton's On-Loan Japan Striker NakataSubmitted by Scott Harkness on Fri, 16/06/2006 - 13:52.
Celtic are looking to sign 19-year-old Feyenoord midfielder Evander Sno, with reports that Celtic boss Gordon Strachan Is also keen on signing Chelsea's Carlton Cole & Hidetoshi Nakata who is on-loan at Bolton Wanderers. Sno, who spent last season on loan at NAC Breda, held talks with the Scottish Champions on Thursday evening. Sno told The Sun: “Celtic is a great club where I can build up experience by playing Champions League football. It's the biggest thing to happen to me.” Celtic have also been linked with Japan midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata and a £2m bid for Chelsea and England U-21 striker Carlton Cole. Nakata has been on loan to Bolton Wanderers this season but the Japanese star still has a year of his contract to run with Italian club side Fiorentina, but is keen on joining up with his Japan team-mate Shunsuke Nakamura, who is already at the Scottish Giants. There are reports that the former AS Roma midfielder Nakata, presently in Germany with the Japan World Cup squad, could be available for £1.5m. Nakata's Japan team-mate, Nakamura, this week ended speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Celtic. However, Peter Harrison, the agent who brokered the deal that took Nakata on loan to Bolton, told BBC Sport that he has not spoken to the Scottish champions about a move north of the border. in favorites | email this page
