Bruce Arena's USA Due To Finalise Latvia & Morocco Friendlies In Addition To Games V Germany & Jamaica Prior To World Cup
Bruce Arena's United States team is closing in on finalising an agreement to play Latvia on May 28 in the USA, the final friendly for the Americans before they leave for Europe to take part in the World Cup Finals.
The game in May against Latvia is due to be played in East Hartford, Connecticut before the squad leave for Germany, for the Finals which kick-off on June 9.
UEFA announced on its Web site on Tuesday that Latvia had agreed to the game. But, the U.S. Soccer Federation doesn't announce friendlies until contracts are finalised by signature, and United States Soccer Federation spokesman Jim Moorhouse said a deal had still not been finalised.
Bruce Arena’s United States next World Cup warm-up friendly is against World Cup hosts Germany on March 22, they then go on to meet Jamaica on April 11 in Cary, North Carolina.
The Americans, who are preparing for their fifth straight World Cup appearance, are also planning another home game in late May.
The US team may meet Morocco on May 23 in Nashville, Tennessee, but that too is yet to be confirmed.
