Brazil's & Real Madrid's Robinho Injury a Major Headache for Parreira - Player May Miss Ghana Match

Robinho had to quit halfway through training today as he felt pain in front of his right thigh, according to one the team's doctors, who did not rule him out of the Ghana knockout match.

"Robinho felt a twinge in the front of his right thigh... He is undergoing ice treatment, we will wait and see."

"If necessary we will ask for tests and if he still has pain tomorrow, we will hold him back," Jose Luis Runco, spokesman for Brazil's medical team said after the training session.

Robinho was almost certain to be on the starting line-up against Ghana's Black Stars, as he refreshed the team in the match against Japan, where he replaced Internazionale's Adriano.

Brazilian media and fans had increased pressure recently on Carlos Alberto Parreira to include Robinho in the squad and heavily criticised the coach's insistence on using Ronaldo at the front.

However, the extent of the injury could not be determined yet and if the player continues to feel pain, he might have to start on the bench for the defending World Champions.
