AC Milan's website have confirmed that Brazil midfielder Kaka has signed a new five-year contract with the Serie A giants to keep him at the San Siro until 2011.

The 24-year-old Seleçao international had been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer, but he has decided to commit his future to the Rossoneri until 2011.

A statement on the official AC Milan webite said: “Kaka and Milan are both celebrating after the midfielder extended his contract with the Rossoneri until 2011.”

After the deal, Kaka said he was eager to quash the constant speculation about a summer move from Milan saying: “I’ve signed a renewal. That way, all of these Real Madrid rumours will not be spoken about anymore.”

Kaka has been an instant-hit since moving from Sao Paolo to the San Siro in 2003, having won the Serie A title in 2004, as well as having played in the 2005 Champions League final with the Italian giants.

This is a welcome boost to AC Milan after they were implicated in the match-fixing scandal currently being investigated in Italy, which may see AC Milan getting deducted points and with the current Serie A champions Juventus staring relegation in the face after the tribunal, due to start on June 29 declares it’s finding’s, roughly 10-days later.
