Brazilian Football Federation Announces World Cup 2006 Base of Operations for Brazil

In a statement issued to the press, the Brazilian Football Federation announced the location of its World Cup 2006 base of operations. After an extensive examination of the options available, the Federation decided settle in close proximity to Frankfurt.

The defending World Champions will be based at the Kempinski Hotel Falkenstein in Konigstein from the 4th of June and until the start of the competition. "The hotel offers quality rooms and facilities so that the team can have a comfortable stay during the World Cup," the statement read.

Brazil will be leaving Konigstein and head to Berlin for their first game against Croatia on the 13th of June and then move to Munich, where it is due to play against Australia on the 18th of June. The final group-stage match against Japan will be played in Dortmund on the 22nd of June.

The federation said that Brazil will use the grounds of a third-division German team, 10 minutes from the hotel. Carlos Alberto Parreira's team will begin it's World Cup training in Weggis, Switzerland before moving to Konigstein.
