Brazil head coach Dunga has named the 22-man Seleçao squad for the Copa America Venezuela 2007, without Barcelona’s Ronaldinho Gaúcho and AC Milan midfielder Kaká, who are both too tired to feature in the tournament.

27-year-old former World Player of the Year Ronaldinho and AC Milan midfielder Kaká both asked the Seleçao coach to be excused from the Brazil squad for the tournament, which takes place in Venezuela between June 26 and July 15.

Real Madrid striker Julio Baptista has recently been drafted into the Brazil squad for the Copa America following left-winger Ze Roberto declaring his retirement from international football.

Nicknamed the Beast, the 25-year-old played on a season’s loan in The Premiership at Arsenal last season and has now returned to the Seleçao squad after last playing for Brazil in the 2-0 win over Wales in a friendly last September.

Ze Roberto, 32, who is back with Bayern Munich after a season at Santos, had earlier informed the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) about his wish to end his international career after featuring for Brazil in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
