Brazil 0 - 1 Poland Under-20 World Cup Half-Time Report: Bordeaux's Grzegorz Krychowiak Stuns Selecao With Free-Kick

10-man Poland are currently beating Brazil 1-0 at half-time in their FIFA Under-20 World Cup 2007 Group D opening match in Montreal on Saturday, with a stunning free-kick from Bordeaux's Grzegorz Krychowiak giving the Poles the lead against the run of play.

Brazil, one of the Under-20 World Cup favourites, had the majority of possession in the first-half, with shots off-target from Chelsea target Alexandre Pato and fellow Internacional forward Ji Parana not testing Bartosz Bialkowski in the Poland goal.

Poland took the lead after soaking up the Brazil pressure for 22 minutes from an exceptional 35-yard free-kick from Grzegorz Krychowiak, which flew past Cassio in the Brazil goal to make it 1-0.

Poland left-back Krzysztof Krol was harshly sent-off for a second yellow card by referee Howard Webb after a foul on Alexandre Pato which dulled the tempo of the match.

The half finished 1-0 to Poland, with Brazil still holding most of the possession, but the feisty and energetic Poles not giving any space to the Seleçao.
