Blackburn Sign Francis Jeffers On Free-Deal From Charlton - Former Everton & Arsenal Star "Can't Wait"
Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of striker Francis Jeffers from Charlton Athletic on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old former Everton forward has signed a two-year contract, with Rovers having the option to sign him for a third year.
Jeffers moved from Everton to Arsenal for £8million in 2001 and was also capped by England once before suffering injury problems, and he only managed to score 8 goals in 39 matches for the Gunners.
He eventually moved to Charlton Athletic in 2004 and was loaned to Glasgow Rangers last season, but Jeffers, frustratingly, failed to score a goal while on loan.
Jeffers is ecstatic with the move to Blackburn. Speaking to the Blackburn Rovers official website, www.rovers.co.uk
Jeffers said: “It has been a busy couple of days. But what a fantastic move for me, I can’t wait.”
“I’ve had a difficult couple of years. But I’ve no doubt that I can do it - given a fair crack of the whip here, I’m sure I can get back to my best and take this club forward.”
