Barcelona have confirmed four players in the European All-Star XI, which also comprise three Olympique Lyon, two Liverpool men and one Real Madrid star, for the jubilee celebration charity football match against Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United at Old Trafford on March 13.

The team to be managed by Italy’s World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi, Fergie’s close friend, is an interesting mix with two-time World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, former England captain David Beckham, Reds’ England internationals Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher in the ranks so far.

31-year-old Los Angeles Galaxy-bound Beckham had long back said he is thrilled to be playing at Old Trafford, his former home at Red Devils, in a outing which will celebrate the 50th anniversary of both United's participation in European football and the Treaty of Rome.

Former England forward Bobby Charlton, now a United director, said: "It promises to be a fantastic occasion with Ronaldinho and David Beckham facing our Manchester United team.”

"It's one of those rare opportunities to see European football's finest players together on one pitch."

Confirmed players in European squad so far: David Beckham (Real Madrid), Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher (both Liverpool), Eric Abidal, Gregory Coupet and Juninho (all Olympique Lyonnais), Ronaldinho, Carles Puyol, Gianluca Zambrotta and Lilian Thuram (all Barcelona).
