Barcelona & Iceland Striker Eidur Gudjohnsen Hopes To Stay At Nou Camp - Spurs Intersted In Former Chelsea Striker

Barcelona and Iceland striker Eidur Gudjohnsen insists he is staying at Barcelona, despite rumours of a Premiership return, with Tottenham Hotspur among the Premiership teams touted as targeting him.

The 28-year-old former Chelsea forward has been linked with a move back to The Premiership after a disappointing season with the struggling Spanish giants, but is adamant that he will be staying at the Nou Camp next season.

“I have no regrets about coming here,” Gudjohnsen told the Barcelona website.

“I am not the slightest bit interested in what anyone says or writes about whether I am staying or not when the season finishes.

“I am only thinking about the last four games [of the Spanish 2006/07 La Liga season]. My future does not concern me right now.

“I am only thinking about trying to win the 12 points that are left so that we can be champions. That is my only concern.

“Nobody from the club [Barcelona] has made contact with me or my father [who is also Gudjohnsen’s agent] and I have a contract with FC Barcelona for next season,” finished Gudjohnsen.

Barcelona, who have had a relatively unsuccessful season this year, despite winning the Champions League and the Spanish title last season, are expected to make major changes this summer and so some major moves may well occur.
