Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi is set to discuss his future with the Serie A giants this week, with reports saying that he may look to leave Italy for a move either to Spain, or to the English Premiership, with Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all said to be interested.

"Interest is real because Villarreal have already made enquiries for Materazzi in April," the player's agent Claudio Vigorelli told Corriere dello Sport.

"But before this, we must have talks with Inter."

32-year-old Materazzi became the first Italian to play Everton, when who joined the Toffees for £2.8m from Perugia in the 1998/99 season, but he failed to settle in England.

He lasted just one season in the Premiership before returning to Italy with his former club for £3m.

He moved to Inter Milan in 2001 and became an integral part of the Azzurri squad for the World Cup Finals in Japan/Korea 2002 under Trappatoni, and has also been called up for the Italy squad for the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany by Marcello Lippi.
