Arsenal's Sol Campbell To Miss Match V Spurs Increasing Doubts Of World Cup Fitness

Arsenal defender Sol Campbell's hopes of being match-fit for the World Cup Finals in June have hit yet another set-back.

The experienced England centre-back has been ruled-out of Arsenal's match against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, diminishing the veteran defender's chances of making the squad list for Germany.

Campbell has played just once for The Gunners since walking out of Highbury at half time of the 3-2 defeat to West Ham in February, and in his comeback game against Portsmouth last weekend he suffered a broken nose.

Campbell will be hoping to return for the return-leg of the Champions League against Villareal next week.

"Sol is not back for Saturday, but he should be involved for Tuesday," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the club's official website.

England boss Sven Goran Eriksson has already stated that if Campbell is match-fit, he will be a certainty in the England squad, but there is little time left for the Gunners defender to make an impact.
