Arsenal striker Jose Antonio Reyes has scored two vital goals to give a 3-1 win for Arsenal against Manchester City, increasing his chances of making Spain's Furia Roja first-team in the World Cup Finals.

The Spanish striker came on as a substitute in the second-half, when the game was tied at 1-1, scoring twice and making the difference in a match that Arsenal had to win to keep their chances of a fourth place spot in the English Premiership alive, therefore guaranteeing them a Champions League-spot next season.

The 22-year-old striker moved to the Gunners from Spanish side Sevilla in January 2004 and has been an ever-present in Arsene Wengers team.

Reyes has made 10 starts for Spain, with 5 sub appearances for La Furia Roja and featured in the qualifying rounds of the World Cup Finals.

Reyes is almost definite of a place in Spain coach Luis Aragones' squad, but his recent form has led to the striker now in a position to claim a place in La Furia Roja's first-team.

The match also saw the return of England left-back Ashley Cole for the first-time in 7 months, who may still be in with a shout of an England squad place.
