Argentina and Man Utd Defender Gabriel Heinze Making Swift Recovery & May Book Place In Jose Peckerman's World Cup Squad

Argentina and Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze could be back in full training next month, and ready to join Jose Peckerman's Albiceleste at the World Cup, according to Argentina's team doctor.

The Albiceleste star sustained knee ligament damage in September in the Champions League against Villarreal, and Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had already admitted that he couldn’t see him being fit for Argentina in the World Cup finals in June - let alone the remainder of this season.

However, Argentina’s team doctor, Dr Donato Villani feels that Heinze will be back in traing soon, and ready to join United's first team this time next month.

“In a month, Gabriel will be able to join his squad,” Villani said in an interview with Ole.

“He can then train on a par with his team-mates.

“This does not mean that he is going to play. At that moment it will be evaluated as to whether it is or not he can try and play.”

Heinze himself conceded late last year that he would struggle to make the finals - but should the Argentine team doctor Villani be right, then he could have every chance of claiming his spot in the Albiceleste squad for the finals.
