The Federation named the Palancas Negras Squad for the African Cup of Nations with two previously uncapped players in the roster.

Clermont Foot's Andre Titi Buengo and Portimonense defender Marco Abreu received their first ever call-up to the Angola national football team. Cermont Foot is playing in France's second division, while Portimonense are playing in the Portuguese League.

Both players will be tested for fitness and suitability for Luis Oliveira Goncalves' plans for the African Cup of Nations, a tournament which will serve as a big test for Angola's debut World Cup Finals appearance.

There was speculation that the Angolan Football Federation would send call-ups to another two previously uncapped players. The Federation said that they were not called for "administrative reasons".

The two players in question are Leeds United defender Rui Marques and Pedro Kamata. Kamata has played with the French Under-21 national football team and was not allowed by FIFA to play for Angola.

He was born in Luanda, Angola's capital, but the Federation's application to FIFA for the player's status to switch nationalities was turned down, because Angola did not gather the necessary paperwork required for this process in time.

The Angola national football team will also play an international friendly game against Morocco in Marrakesh, before travelling to Egypt for the African Cup of Nations. Angola are in Group B of the tournament and will face Cameroon, Congo DR and World Cup Qualified Togo.
